Event Cost (includes boat rental):
4/15/18 to 6/11/18 = Solo Kayak – $50.00 / Canoe 2-Person Team – $95.00 (+ small online registration fee)
6/12/18 to 7/8/18 = Solo Kayak – $60.00 / Canoe 2-Person Team – $115.00 (+ small online registration fee)

6/12/18 to 7/8/18 = Solo Kayak – $40.00 / Canoe 2-Person Team – $80.00 (+ small online registration fee)

Registration will open on April 15, 2018 and remain open until 1 week prior to the race, or unless we reach capacity.  Full team payment is due when team captain registers the team.
**All team member information is required to submit the online registration.** (Name, Email, Phone, Address, DOB, Gender, Emerg. Contact & Phone). Entry Fees are non-refundable
Entry is limited to the first 50 Kayaks and first 85 Canoe Teams registered for rented boats, no limit on use of personal boats.
Entry fee includes canoe/kayak rental(for boat rental entry), swag, and post race food.

Event Description:

New for the 2018 Season, a 3 Hour Paddle-O (Canoe/Kayak Orienteering Event) in Southeast Michigan. Competitors will locate Orienteering Controls via Canoe/Kayak, in an all optional format throughout Kent Lake in Kensington Metropark. All Canoes/Kayaks will be provided by Heavner Canoe Rental for anyone who does not own their own. For anyone renting, you may bring your own personal paddles and/or life jacket (PFD). For those bringing their own Canoes/Kayaks, you must also have your own personal paddles and life jacket (PFD) to participate.

Maps will be provided, pre-marked with control points.  The total paddling will be around 15K depending on your selected route and number of CP’s achieved.  Not all control points will be required to finish as an officially ranked team/individual; however, the more control points a team/individual obtains in the shortest amount of time, the higher they will rank in the overall standings.

Weather Policy:

In the event of adverse weather (lightening or high winds), a decision will be made by the Race Director whether to delay the Paddle-O event, for up to 1 hour, or postpone/cancel the event. If the event is postponed/cancelled, every effort will be made to reschedule the event for July 29, 2018.
